Many of these designers inspire me not to keep on generating new designs (starting from scratch), but to redesign classic models. Many of these artists very clearly were working off of each others' ideas - whether it be for improving on them, mimicking them, or bluntly stealing forms. Taking several different chairs from midcentury (or from any time period) and recombining all the different parts would make a very interesting project and comment on 'authenticity'.
