If you check out his site there is a studio tab and a render tab. It looks like he uses some type of CAD, not sure what though, and you can see his technique of bending the wooden strips in his studio. His sketches are pretty neat, looks like his work is heavily inspired by aviation/airflow.
how does one cut out all of these wood strips so perfectly? Does he employ lasers for cutting and computerized 3D modelling?
